This month we shine the spotlight on project “RestART - Empowering victims of domestic violence through art” funded under the Active Citizens Fund programme in Cyprus and implemented by Room for Art in partnership with Association for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Family - SPAVO.
The project’s overall aim is to empower victims of domestic violence through art, by engaging them in structured art activities led by local artists, toward an understanding of personal and societal forces contributing to their relationships with the world. Read more about the project here.
RestART has been implementing interactive workshops, where art mentors guide victims of domestic violence to explore the dimension of self-empowerment through visual arts, ceramics, and creative writing with the ultimate goal to transform their personal narratives from victims of violence into advocates empowered for their own positive futures.
