Initiative Coordinator: Kateryna Biloruska Foundation (Cyprus)
Partners: Tromso Sports Council (Norway)
Relative Outcome: Vulnerable Groups Empowered
Duration: 6 months
Grant Amount: € 4,000.00
The main focus of this project is exchanging and sharing knowledge, expertise and best practices on supporting the community and more specifically the children through sports.
Kateryna Biloruska Foundation and Tromsø Sports Council organisations are both working with sports and the development of children, under different capacities.
Challenges:
Children from disadvantageous backgrounds are more likely to have more difficulties in integrating in the society, to experience lack of access to basic material, have poorer health and do worse on their education.
Children with disabilities tend to have accessibility challenges, integrating challenges and tend to face lack of empathy and understanding from others (including children of similar age)
Children with the above characteristics tend to be more vulnerable because their opportunities are relatively lower than other children of a similar age and they are exposed to more dangers. They are facing many obstacles in realising their rights.
Target group: This collaboration will aim to benefit the below target groups:
- The two organisations (Kateryna Biloruska Foundation and Tromsø Sports Council)
- Local professionals working with sports and children (Public and Private)
- Coaches and Physical Education (PE) teaches
- Children from disadvantageous Background
- Children with disabilities
- Parents/legal guardians of children
